My pipes are leaking, what do I do?

We always say, a good understanding of your homes Plumbing is not too difficult to walk our clients through. If you’re experiencing an active water pipe leak, the first step is locating your homes main water valve shut off. In most homes, the Plumbing system will have a main water shut off. If you’re r familiar with the location then controlling the leak is as easy as turning the valve handle round or lever clockwise. If you’re ur not familiar then the first place to look is in a basement mechanical room or crawlspace. Then call a plumber near you to address the actual leak.

My sink won't drain

In the event that your sink will not drain or is slow draining. We recommend limiting your water use or stop entirely. If your drain is a Kitchen sink or bathroom sink, These drains should always have an accessible P-Trap. The intended purpose of the P-Trap is for a sanitary water seal. This prevents sewer gasses from being released into your home. This trap is also in most drain clogs, The point of access for our plumbing professionals. As a Homeowner this is a great area of opportunity to create a Plumbing maintenance schedule to clean and sanitize your sewer drains. If the drain cannot be cleared by you as the homeowner then most likely the drain clog is further down your plumbing drain and would require a drain snake or drain cleaning.

No Hot Water or My water heater is not working

If you are experiencing no hot water or you can confirm your water heater is not working, or worse water heater is leaking, Heres what we recommend. First if your Experiencing no hot water this can be a sometimes really simple fix. In some cases it is just the pilot light. The pilot light is the small match size flames that is constantly lit. If for any reason it goes out be it, Wind, dirty air in the area around the water heater. This can be fixed by simply following the re lighting procedure on the label located on your water heater. If you are seeing visible water around the bottom or top of your water heater, It is recommended you locate the water heater valve on the cold water pipe inlet side of your water heater. After doing so turning the valve clockwise until it stops. Also just as important is turning the gas pipe shut off valve off at your water heater. In most settings it is located on the black or yellow colored gas pipe in the direction of the bottom front of your water heater. The valve in most settings will be yellow or red handle in color. Turn this valve clockwise until it stops as well. Your next step would be to call a plumber near you to inspect your water heater.
